Upgrades coming to Norwegian Encore include more adult-only space

In November 2024, Norwegian Encore heads to a two-week dry dock for a refurbishment that includes the addition of an adults-only outdoor lounge, a new Mediterranean specialty restaurant named Palomar, and 24 new balcony staterooms. Norwegian Encore will also expand two dining venues, Cagney’s Steakhouse and Teppanyaki. Other changes to Norwegian Encore include a redesign of suites in The Haven, Norwegian Cruise Line’s ship within a ship concept. Following the renovation, Norwegian Encore will sail seven-day Caribbean cruises from Miami.

When Encore emerges from its dry dock on December 2, 2024, guests will find Spice H2O, a new, complimentary outdoor area secluded from the main pool deck. Replacing the former laser tag arena, Spice H2O will include multiple hot tubs, eight large day beds, cooling pools, and a bar serving adult beverages. Spice H2O is an outdoor space designed for guests 18 years and older looking for a quiet escape from the bustling activities.

Norwegian Encore’s specialty dining restaurants will get an upgrade with the expansion of two along with a new venue. Cagney’s Steakhouse, which recently won the 2024 Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for its wine program; and Teppanyaki, the hibachi-style restaurant, will increase their capacity by taking over Los Lobos’ footprint on deck eight and Coco’s on deck six. Additionally, Ocean Blue will be converted to Palomar, the Mediterranean seafood restaurant found on Norwegian’s Prima-class vessels.

Staterooms on Encore get an upgrade including 24 new balcony cabins and two club balcony staterooms created by repurposing a portion of the ship’s Observation Lounge. Inside The Haven by Norwegian, the Premier Owner’s Suites with a large balcony will be expanded from two bedrooms to three. These two suites will also include three and a half bathrooms, a fully redesigned living room, owner’s bedroom, outdoor balcony furniture, and a new separate dining room. The Haven by Norwegian is the line’s ship-within-a-ship concept with dedicated concierge service, private pool area, restaurant, and bar.

Following its renovation, Encore heads back to the US from Southampton, UK to offer seven-day, round-trip sailings from Miami to the Caribbean through March 2025 with calls to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; Tortola; British Virgin Islands; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; and NCL’s private island in the Bahamas, Great Stirrup Cay. For summer 2025, Norwegian Encore will sail seven-day, round-trip cruises to Alaska from Seattle.
