A look at Royal Caribbean’s Cruise with Confidence rules

With the ever-changing CDC guidelines, it’s good to know what your options are if your planned cruise can no longer happen.

With the ever-changing cruise rules, CDC guidelines, and Covid-19 Delta variant spread, it’s good to know what your options are if your planned cruise can no longer happen for whatever reason. Here’s a look at what Royal Caribbean is offering those who have booked with them in their Cruise with Confidence rules.

To break it down to the simplest terms, you may cancel up to 48 hours before you sail and get a future cruise credit valid to book again by April 30, 2022 and sail by September 30, 2022.

Royal Caribbean will let you cancel any cruise that sets sail through April 30, 2022. Whether it’s a booking you already have or one you make right now through July 31st, 2021, you’re covered. As long as you cancel at least 48 hours before your sail date, you’ll receive a future cruise credit.

But what if the prices go up for the same cruise you already booked? If the cruise fare on your new booking exceeds the future cruise credit’s value, you will have to pay the difference. Alternatively, if the new cruise fare is lower than the future cruise credit’s value, a new future cruise credit will be issued for the remaining balance. But Royal Caribbean has a best price guarantee that lets you take advantage of a better price up to 48 hours before your sail date. You’ll receive the difference as a non-refundable onboard credit inside final payment or rate adjustment outside final payment.

Things to Know

You may owe any difference in cruise fare if your new booking exceeds the Future Cruise Credit’s value.
If you opt into the Cruise with Confidence 100% Future Cruise Credit, you do not qualify for any future cruise credit offers or refunds related to our Global Suspension of sailings.

If you need to change or cancel your cruise, you can contact them by phone at 800-256-6649 or submit their online form to cancel your reservation. If you booked with a Travel Advisor, please contact them for assistance.
