Star Flyer, one of three ships in the Star Clipper’s fleet, not only will be offering the beauty and romance of Tahiti in 2009, but lucky brides will now receive 50 percent off the cruise fare.

“The crystalline seas, warmth of the sun and exotic culture of Tahiti along with the uniqueness of sailing on a Star Clippers ship make it the ultimate romantic experience,” said Star Clipper spokesman Mark Carlson

“Star Flyer is the ideal setting to create memories to last a lifetime and this program makes a honeymoon in paradise affordable.”

The ship sails a host of seven-night, round-trip Papeete itineraries calling on Huahine, Raiatea, Taha’a, Bora Bora, and Cook Bay and Opunohu Bay, Moorea. There’s even an overnight in Papeete before disembarkation.

Cruise fares per honeymooning couple begin at $3,743 ($2,495 for the groom and $1,248 for the bride). Once onboard, newlyweds are greeted with a bottle of champagne and fruit basket.

Combining the romance of the islands with the adventure of cruising on a tall ship, the shipboard ambience is suited for honeymooners and lovebirds alike. Couples can cuddle in the widow’s net under the bowsprit with only the ocean below or take a nighttime romantic stroll on deck under a blanket of sails and stars.

Her size enables the four-masted vessel to easily circle the islands for scenic cruising and glide inside the atolls that larger ships are unable to visit. The end result? Passengers receive exclusive access to some of the most spectacular landscapes and marine environments in the world. The motorized ship typically moves from one island to the next under sail.

Water sports, too, are among the highlights of the onboard experience. Look for complimentary snorkeling, sunfish sailing, waterskiing and windsurfing. Scuba diving is available for a fee and certification is required. Look also for the ship’s crew to host beach parties on nearby islands.

Guests who book their air with Star Clippers also receive a free night post cruise at the Radisson Plaza Resort Tahiti in Papeete.
